This body of work looks at small towns and working areas across Pennsylvania, Ohio, and West Virginia, many of which were built around coal, steel, railroads, manufacturing, and the rivers nearby. Once steady and growing, these places have changed tremendously over time. What remains is a mix of what still operates to this day and what’s been left behind for good.
